About This Book
Poems & Pictures is acollection of forty-nine poems written between 1963 and 1973, a period of the author’s young adulthood when she was in high school, college, and a young mother. They were highly influenced by her English literature and psychology majors, personal experiences, the Vietnam War and the Civil Rights Movement, and range from the deeply serious to the truly silly. The poems are accompanied by photos and art works the author created between 1967 and 2022, adding new dimensions to the writing. She is a trained graphic artist and designed the book herself.
